The Color Purple In Theatres- 5th July- 14th Sept

The Color Purple has been in theatres for approximately  6 weeks and been getting nothing but raving reviews.

The Color Purple is a landmark story that has been transformed from a book into a film and now into a soon to be sold out London musical. The Play explores the life of Celie, a young black girl living in the 1930’s in Georgia. The musical takes it audience on a journey through her life and catches moments that most musicals wouldn’t normally do. The Color Purple shows Celie dealing with difficult moments, like obsession, rape and manipulation just to name a few.

Tickets for the show are very hard to get hold of but by calling up on the day or a few days before, might help you getting a ticket. The colour purple is a film we loved and couldn’t wait to see how the director (John Doyles) would recreated one of Steve Spielberg’s master pieces. With the bar set so high, John Doyle has proven he can and he did. The music throughout the musical is to die for and the feeling you gain when you leave is like no other. This production is not your every day average upbeat musical, but you’ll defiantly get the satisfaction another way, through the music story and great performances.

The Color Purple will be showing at the Menier Chocolate Factory in Southwark. The play finishes on the 14th of september and runs for 2hour and 20 minutes. Tickets vary from £27- £35 and are very very limited. Get to calling the theatre as soon as possible.

Hints and Tips: Keep the party small, as its more likely to getting seats together.
