What To: Popular French flick “Girlhood” out this Friday
Why To: French writer and director, Céline Sciamma, takes us through the coming of age story of a young French teenage black girl growing up in suburban Paris. We see her go through the pressure of being accepted into a lifestyle that doesn’t promise her the freedom and independence she desires, caught up in gang life, dating an older man and an unbearable situation at home.
