The Old George Restaurant – Bethnal Green – Review

The Old George has been doing their thing for a while now (1700s), as the go to pub spot for East Londoners. With the success of the busy pub flow, Last week these guys introduced their new renovated restaurant, serving great British Dishes.

The Old George restaurant is situated within metres of Bethnal Green tube station, making it pretty easy to locate and we think it’s totally worth the visit.

When we rocked up, we we’re instantly shocked by the vibrant atmosphere of the pub and we’re assuming that the restaurant was going to have a little bit of the same atmosphere. Boy oh boy we we’re wrong, it was like we went into a totally different place. The restaurant is still very new, so it was no where near as busy as downstairs and all attention was on us… how perfect! The Old George Restaurant is like a traditional British country home, filled with culture and class.

The menu features the best of British… scallops, Lamb neck croquettes, steak, corn fed poussin and the list goes on. The food was absolutely scrumptious, there was not one dish that we thought wasn’t up to scratch… Head Chef Jay Bond knows exactly how to make us Londoners happy. Our Fav dish was The Lamb neck Croquettes which we most certainly recommend and the steak which we couldn’t refuse, especially because not everyone can serve a good steak and The Old George restaurant does just that, Served with fresh cut chips… you just gotta try it!
