The Amen Corner- National Theatre

The Amen Corner is showing at The National Theatre on the Olivier stage, down at the South bank.  Tickets are now on sale, with performances on till mid August.

The Amen Corner is a production like no other. The talented Rufus Norris has directed what press are calling a “Glorious and Superb” production.  If your a lover of gospel music, choir singing or great acting, your going to love it.

The play is set 1950’s Harlem New York, where Marianne Jean-Baptise takes the stage by storm starring as the lead in ‘The amen corner.’ She plays a very opinionated paster who is hiding a few home truths herself. The play shows that being a pastor isnt that easy, whilst others are snooping and finding out dirty secrets and  trying to take the pastors title. The production takes you on a journey exploring love, lies and the church. Without saying to much, we came out feeling appreciative and feeling as if we were apart of the amazing choir.

Its always refreshing going to watch a good show in the theatres and The Amen Corner is more than just a show. This production will capture you not only with their voices but the hard hitting storyline that takes place.

The National are offering £12 Tickets for the first 500 seats for every performance, so get to ordering as soon as possible.

Hints and Tips: Make a day of eat whilst dining on the south bank or going for a walk along the bank.
