Homemade Jamaican Coleslaw

We are no chefs but we love food and wanted to share a few of our fav recipes, that we have created/learnt. Cooking should be fun and we hope you find these handy and inspire you to create the same.
With Caribbean, African and British routes… We love to try new things and can’t wait to continue to share with you.

Homemade Jamaican Coleslaw is the perfect side dish at bbqs, parties and Sunday dinners.
As expressed we are not chefs and don’t always use measurements for our recipes as we make our taste buds do the work… So for this recipe be prepared to taste along the way.

What you will need:

Cabbage.
Carrots.
Spring Onion (Scallion).
Mayo.
Salad Cream.
Tablespoon of Sugar.
Teaspoon of Mixed Herbs.
Teaspoon of Black Pepper.

Let’s Cook:

Shred up your desired amount of cabbage and carrots (This will depend of how much you would like to make). I prefer to have a little more cabbage than carrots. Thinly slice your Spring onion and add it to a bowl of grated carrots and cabbage. Add a generous amount of mayo (3/4 table spoons) and then slowly add your salad cream to Suit your taste (3/4 table spoons). Once you have mixed this altogether, add a teaspoon of mixed herbs and your desired amount of sugar.
Set the Jamaican Coleslaw in the fridge and serve with your meal!

Feel free to add sweet corn and peppers if you want a bit of a change.

We hope you enjoy and can’t wait to get your feedback x

Special Thank you to our family and friends who have shared their Jamaican coleslaw recipes with me, which has allowed me to taste & experiment and create my fav.
