The Jam At Juno Bar – Aug 3rd
‘The Jam’ 90s music event this August 3rd in Shoreditch. Juno Bar in Shoreditch plays host to probably one of the coolest nights of the summer; “The Jam”. A night entirely dedicated to 90s Hip-hop, R&B, House and Neo-soul.
The Jam is the place to be if you’re already donning your 90s Air Jordan’s, box-braids and scrunchies, you might want to take a seat as we explain why this night is going to be the one. Firstly, The Jam presents their dress-code as ‘Do The Right Thing’ and for those that don’t know, this is the award-winning Spike Lee joint from 1989, so if you need some pointers, go and watch the film.
The second aspect that is going to make The Jam super dope are the “speciality cocktails” themed on various iconic 1990’s tracks. For example, in 1997 the late Tupac Shakur posthumously brought us the soulful “Do For Love” and in 2013 The Jam brings us the “Do 4 Love” cocktail: Appleton Estate Dark Rum, Martell Brandy, Coke & Lime. The “Do 4 Love” accompanies the “Juicy”, the “Crush On You” and the Snoop-inspired “Gin & Juice” (made from Gin and a juice of your choice).
Once you’ve got your cocktail fix, it’s time to hit the dance floor. We’re sure you’ll see iconic dance-moves like the ‘bogle’ and the ‘butterfly’ and maybe even the ‘funky charleston’ a la Kid & Play making an appearance. Providing the backdrop and bringing you a catalogue of Chicago House, Neo-soul, R&B and all your usual faves… whatever your 1990s style, DJ’s on the night are sure to bring the ruckus!
Entry to The Jam is FREE all night, and the party goes on until 2am.
