Meet The Maker @ The Running Horse

The Running Horse have teamed up with many brewers, wine producers and distillers, to bring you a unique evening of education and fun. It’s not every day that you hear about events that will feed your mind and your stomach…

Meet the maker is a monthly evening event taking place on the first monday of every month. The event focuses on specialist that showcase their best produce, which is accompanied by a great selection of mini food pairings. Hosted upstairs in one of the coolest pubs in the city, you know this is going to be something special.

Meet the maker is perfect for foodies, Drinkers and people that are on the lookout for trying something new. We feel events like Meet the maker are great for a first date or a birthday treat. Not only will you be learning from the producers but you will have the chance to ask questions and grab some tips.

Tom oliver the producer of Oliver’s Cider and Perry kicked of the launch of Meet the maker on monday. He spoke about his journey and the rise of oliver’s Cider and perry. Whilst he delivered his speech, there was several pauses for us to drink and eat and fill the room with questions. We couldn’t help but ask what the award winning cider specialist (Tom Oliver)  favourite cider was… The master himself prefers a dry tasting cider, which is simply a cider that isn’t sweet. We instantly fell in love with the first cider on the menu which was the “Shazam” filled with bubbles and sweetness. He joked and expressed that that was our favourite because we were a younger than he was. We personally feel it was because it went down great with the pork belly and apple ketchup that was served with it.

All of Oliver’s ciders were amazing and now we know what is behind the product, we couldn’t help but find out where we could get more…

Olivers cider and Perry can be purchased online from www.oliversciderandperry.co.uk and will soon be available at The Running Horse.

Tickets are only £20, which is a bargain considering there’s alcohol on the tap and food, with the option to hang around after for more.
