Lovers Rock Exhibition – Starts Today

What2: The photographic works of John Goto are made public in what promises to be a nostalgic exhibition. Photos of Lewisham teens in 1977 are the subject here and the collection of photos are named in recognition of the popular music scene of the day- “Lovers Rock”. There’ll be music and a chance to meet the photographer himself.

When2: Monday 27th October until Sunday 2nd November 2014 / 10am-5pm / Photographer signing copies of his photo-book on Thursday 30th October

Where2: Riverdale Centre, Lewisham Shopping Centre, Molesworth Street, London SE13 7HB

Why2: Not only is it of historical and cultural significance (these photos haven’t been made public since 1977) but it also gives you a chance to take in the vibrant sounds of popular Caribbean genre of Lovers Rock and marvel at the hairstyles and fashion of the day.

HOT TIP: Make sure you get down on Thurs 30th Oct for the photo-book signing!
