Leaf and Bean Indie Coffee Shop – Rotherhithe – Review

Leaf and Bean is a new, quaint independent coffee shop and tea room in the heart of historic Rotherhithe, serving commuters and locals alike.

Sitting snug inside the centuries old Rotherhithe Overground Station, this unique independent coffee shop sells freshly made sandwiches, cakes (including brownies) and healthy meals centered around pasta and cous cous. As with all indie-shops, they can stock what they like, and this month they’ve begun stocking tasty multi-flavour lemonade by ‘SweetBird’.

As with all coffee shop’s, hot drinks are readily available and made with the finest ingredients. Undoubtedly it’s secret weapon is it’s orange hot chocolate!

On our morning Leaf and Bean run, we chose a delicious prawn pasta, drizzled with tomatoes, pepper and mayo (£3) and a rich hot chocolate (£2.10 for a small). All ingredients freshly prepared and it’s definitely evident in the taste. Everything looked so good; we had our eye on the halloumi wrap, so that’ll be our next conquest!

Whether you’re a commuter needing your travel coffee-shop fix or a local searching for a great sandwich, Leaf and Bean with their friendly team and welcoming vibes (they even let you charge your phone!), are definitely going to become an obsession!
